Keep in mind that Las Vegas gets extremely hot in the summer and an outdoor wedding should be done only at sunrise or sunset. Once you decide on the type of wedding, research where you want to have the wedding: a wedding chapel or a hotel chapel. Book a package that includes your flowers and photography and transportation. You'll be able to make choices and upgrade to videos and larger floral displays. The wedding coordinator will help you with your choices. All the chapels have wedding coordinators that will assist you. If you are bring a group, make dining arrangements for the reception. Your wedding coordinator planner will help you. Make your travel arrangements and hotel reservations. If you are bringing a group with you, negotiate with the hotel for discounted hotel rates for the group. Or rent a Las Vegas home or villa for the wedding party and host a pre wedding party there. The homes are not on the strip, so if your guests want to experience Las Vegas, they should rent a car. Las Vegas is an easy city to navigate by car, but there is a lot of traffic. Don't drink and drive and stay out of unfamiliar areas at night. Car rental companies rent GPS systems or bring your own. Plan to arrive in Las Vegas a day or two ahead of the wedding. This will give you time to adjust to the time change and the weather and give you time to get your marriage license. Once you arrive in town, cal your wedding chapel and reconfirm all the details. Arrange with the hotel to have your wedding dress steamed and pressed before the wedding and delivered to your room. Many of the wedding chapels don't have dressing areas, you are expected to arrive dressed and ready to go. If you get married in the hotels, some hotels have dressing area for the brides. If your groom is renting a tuxedo, discuss with your wedding planner coordinator whether you should rent at home or in Las Vegas. If you rent in Las Vegas, confirm all rentals and make pick up arrangements. If you are bringing it from home, make sure if it needs pressed, you have the hotel press and steam it like the wedding dress. Pay attention to the weather in Las Vegas. The temperatures soar into the triple digits in the summer. It might be a dry heat, but its a HOT heat. Make sure you pack clothes for the weather and good walking shoes. Stay hydrated in the summer, that means drink a lot of water and not alcoholic drinks! Don't over party before the wedding. The combination of alcohol and heat can be devastating. Don't spend hours at the pool without sunscreen unless you want to have a sunburn and feel miserable from a sunburn. Straps and boning on your wedding dress will hurt. Sunburn will show up in your wedding pictures. Use common sense! You can make arrangements to have your makeup done and hair done either at your hotel salon or local salon. If you are bringing guests, send out save the date cards 8 or 9 months in advance so they have time to arrange vacation time and save enough cash to attend. Your guests will need to know if you are arranging transportation for them to the wedding ceremony if its held outside of the hotel or if they need to take a cab. Ask the wedding coordinator how long of a trip it should take to navigate the strip if there is a lot of traffic. While it might be only a short three mile drive, if there is a lot of traffic, you could be late for your wedding. Keep your guests in the loop as to the name, location and time they need to arrive at the chapel and reception information.
